SAT in test score bubbles with a pencil

Juniors, your first official administration for the SAT will be the week you return from the upcoming holiday, on Sat., Dec. 3, 2022. Most students have already registered for the SAT in their Junior Seminar Class.

If your student is not already registered, have them reach out to their Junior Seminar teacher. You should also reach out if you have any questions about the SAT or if you need help registering for the test.

Families, your child has been working through Kaplan Test Prep and doing weekly practice in Kahn Academy as part of Junior Seminar to prepare for the SAT.

We want to encourage you to keep your student engaged in test prep including over the upcoming holiday break (Nov. 21-25). Encourage them to practice 2-3 times over the break, practicing 45 minutes on Khan Academy to continue to feel confident and prepared for the test.

For the SAT test day on Dec. 3, please remember the following:

  1. If your child works, encourage them to request time off work for Fri., Dec. 2 so they can rest and get enough sleep the night before the test.

  1. Make sure your student takes their SAT admission ticket AND their YES Prep student ID with them to the test.

  1. Leave home in enough time to get to your student's testing site at least 20 minutes early.  For the Dec. 3 SAT, juniors will take the SAT at a testing center around Houston. These are off-campus locations, not at their YES Prep school. Be sure to check your student's SAT admissions ticket for their testing location and time.

If for any reason you or your student needs help or has questions on test day, please be sure to reach out to your college counselor or your campus Director of College Counseling.
