We will be having Open House by grade levels beginning next week.

 Now that we’ve made it through the first few weeks of school, we’re making some small adjustments to our lunch schedules. Our 6^th graders will now eat at 10:45, joining our 8^th grade students. Our 7^th grade students will now be eating lunch at 10:15 each day. This will help us accommodate the larger class sizes in the cafeteria while ensuring that we have sufficient admin support for each lunch block. Thank you for supporting our students with their updated lunch times.

 

Over the next 2 weeks all Bus Riders will be receiving a bus pass in the form of a sticker on their ID. As of October 2nd, students who are not registered for transportation services will not be allowed to ride the bus. Distribution of stickers will be happening during advisories over the next 2 weeks. Please help us by reminding students to ensure that they are registered, which can be confirmed with us at the front office. 

 Please emphasize the importance of keeping their IDs on as drivers are aware that students will be receiving their bus pass stickers. If a student loses their ID they can purchase a new one for $5 at the front office and we will ensure the bus pass sticker is reapplied. 

Attendance Policy Reminders 2023-2024

• A mandatory parent meeting will be required after 5 unexcused absences.
• There is a limit of 5 parent written excuse notes that will be accepted per semester. All other absences without a formal Doctor’s Note/Appointment will be marked as unexcused.
• Excuse notes must be submitted within 3 business days of student absence.

• Se requerirá una reunión obligatoria con los padres después de 5 ausencias injustificadas.
• Hay un límite de 5 notas de excusa escritas por los padres que se aceptarán por semestre. Todas las demás ausencias sin una nota/cita formal del médico se marcarán como injustificadas.
• Las notas de justificación deben presentarse dentro de los 3 días hábiles posteriores a la ausencia del estudiante.

Dress Code Reminder 

We have included the Dress Code for you to review.  We have seen shorts, sweat pants and shirts that do not follow the Dress Code and therefore they will be receiving consequences.

Please make sure your child is dressed according to the YES Prep Southwest Dress Code. 

Student IDs / ID de estudiantes

ID’s are required for all students.

All students MUST wear an official ID (not paper).

Todos los estudiantes DEBEN tener una identificación oficial (no impresa).

Student IDs are available to purchase in the cafeteria each morning from 8am – 8:30am. Students can also purchase an ID during advisory or lunch at the front office.

We accept cash and card payments. A new ID costs $5.

Students are required to wear the official blue YES Prep student lanyard.

Las identificaciones de estudiantes están disponibles para comprar en la cafetería todas las mañanas de 8 am a 8:30 am. Los estudiantes también pueden comprar una identificación durante el asesoramiento o el almuerzo en la oficina principal.
